Dunelm Veterinary Group treats a wide range of pets, including cats, dogs, horses and small pets such as rabbits and hamsters, and states that emergency care is available. Recent reviews describe frequent, ongoing case management (including chronic disease), major procedures (a cat limb amputation for an aggressive cancer), and end-of-life care (euthanasia), with owners repeatedly mentioning that appointments didn’t feel rushed and that staff took time to explain options. A minority of feedback raises a safety concern about an incorrect weight being recorded and the pet then being given the wrong worming dose, with the owner reporting the follow-up response felt dismissive.

I really couldn't recommend Dunelm Veterinary Group highly enough. Every single one of the staff is unfailingly empathetic, kind and good humoured, and they all go out of their way to make both the animal and the human comfortable. The care for the animals is truly second to none. We've had an incredibly difficult few months, in which all three of our cats have been ill with various conditions; a short severe illness which ended in euthanasia, a chronic disease to manage, and a rare, aggressive cancer which has needed a limb amputation. It is without exaggeration that I say we've been in the vets almost every week since October, and in all of that time we've never been rushed, always had our concerns listened to and have felt our pets (and ourselves!) so cared for. Particularly with Cricket, who was euthanised, and Gylfi's amputation, the level of kindness which has been offered to us is above and beyond expectations, and we can't thank the team enough. Special thanks in particular to Fran, Jack, Jordan, Demi and Freya, but honestly everyone at the practice is a star! I'll never take a pet anywhere else.

Dunelm Vets are the best vets in Durham. Our beagle Harley had a very difficult 9 years related to illness and Dunelm took the best care of not only Harley but of us as his mum and dad. We sadly lost him on 27.11.2025, the love they showed to Harley meant so much to us and the care and patience shown to us while we had to accept the most difficult news was just something my husband and I needed to get us through this very difficult time. Thank you Dunelm, Harley was grateful for all the love you showed as are we xx

Staff is brilliant and our cats were well taken care of. Parking is a bit difficult as the space is insufficient for place and traffic is always busy so might get a bit frustrating
